Oh I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for this wedding next July! Congratulations Clare and Joe!
This bride is so creative and I love how unique their session was. Love and Football baby! Our bride wanted a rustic, natural setting as her backdrop and our football coach groom wanted to go to the football field. Now since our bride is this coach’s biggest cheerleader, heading down to the ol’ Blue and Gold field was no problem at all! We had so much fun! I love the props that we used too. The huge ‘&’ sign was provided by my favorite boutique shop in Southbury, Respond if you Please and the bride wrote out the most awesome save the date on the football. I can’t wait to see what we’ll do for the wedding!
A romantic picnic in the park was the perfect setting for our creative engagement session with Nicole and Brett. I love how fun and adventurous this couple is, hiking up to the lake, climbing on trees, and even rolling around in the grass for a few really great shots.
Since moving to Newtown, CT earlier this year I’ve made it my goal to really explore my new stomping grounds. When Dayna and Mike described their vision for an engagement session I knew the perfect little hidden spot to bring them. We started at the covered bridge down the street from our new house and worked out way to Main St. in Newtown for a little stroll down the prettiest street I’ve ever seen! Then it was over the a little hidden park where the setting sun provided us with some incredibly dreamy light! Working with these two was a blast and I can’t wait for the wedding!
I had such a wonderful time with Danielle and John on their CT Rustic Engagement session. We started off at Huntington State Park in Redding CT, and then headed to a friends Barn practically across the street. Red cowboy boots, a red truck and a real working horse farm… can’t get much better than that! So grateful that the light was just perfect and their wasn’t a cloud in the sky for this happy couple. I can not wait till their wedding this fall! Many Congratulations!
Oh I can’t wait for this couples wedding in May! So not only are they having their reception at the Waterview, but we’re doing their portraits on the mountain behind the Waterview. That’s where we started today, at the couples home. What an amazing dream location! Beautiful light, hand forged stone steps, walkways, gazebos and archways. As a Photographer… can I ask for anything more? So excited to work with you Linda and Joe! Congratulations!
I spent such an incredible day with this couple, I can not wait for their wedding in October! We started at their families home with hair and makeup by the amazingly talented Sara from Bella Artistries and really got a chance to relax and do a pretend wedding day trial/walk through. We moved into the foyer for our first set of portraits. Such beautiful natural light was pouring in through the front door making it impossible to get a bad shot. The love and energy that these two share is beautiful to witness, they hugged and kissed all day long! Exactly what an engagement session should be! Then we headed over to a great new restaurant in Danbury called Market Place Kitchen and Bar for a little more dramatic look. These two have a passion for good wine and great food and this new modern American restaurant located in the heart of Danbury’s dining district was a perfect fit. The interior of the Market Place is compiled of sustainable and local materials, utilizing beautiful 300 year old barn wood from the Gurski Farm in Brookfield, CT. They also ‘celebrate and encourage local, organic, and sustainability harvested food‘. Amazing location, great food, huge wine selection and a phenomenal staff makes it one of my new favorite go to places. We then finished off our day at Spasi in Danbury. It’s where they had their first date, and we thought it was too cute and special not to stop by for a coupe of pictures. Many thanks to the couples family for inviting us to use their home, The Marketplace and to Spasi’s. We are so happy to share these images with you all.
Happy Wine glass! We just love how the wine bottles make the shape of a smiley face!
Watch out cover of GQ! I think we have found your next model!
Aimee and Michael are a match made in internet Heaven. Both were looking to meet the right person when Michael came across Aimee’s profile on Christian Mingle. After several emails and text messages, they finally decided to talk on the phone. That quickly led to an obvious next step – to meet in person. The first get together, or “super date,” was an all day affair. It started with church (a pretty safe place to meet a virtual stranger) and from there they went on to lunch, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, shopping at the mall and a movie. Neither one wanted the date to end – it was love at first site. From day one they have been inseparable. By the end of that first date Michael knew he had met his future wife. (She was pretty sure too!)
So for such a special couple, I decided we had to pull out all the stops and recreate their ‘Super Date’. We started with some coffee and creativity at our favorite new roasting company, Redding Roasters in Bethel CT. Then stopped in at The Rainy Day book Store, right next door. Coffee and a Book… genius!! I love natural light and all things outdoors, so we made a quick stop where the light was just right, and warmed right back up with a trip to Molten Java and Byrds Books in Bethel, CT. It was so great to capture such variety within the same theme. Loved all of our locations and am very Thankful that all of the owners were thrilled to have us visit for a few portraits!
I can not wait for Aimee and Mike’s Wedding! I am thrilled to be apart of it!
Enjoy a taste of our session, and if you have any creative or unique ideas for your engagement session, I can’t wait to hear them! Email me: Info@KariePetersonPhotography and tell me all about it!
It’s so hard to plan when the weather is going to leave you with perfect picturesque mornings. It’s not like Mother nature send us reminder email or text messages. So this bride-to-be and I had a plan to out smart mother nature. We decided that if the weather report said that it was going to snow over night and be clear in the morning, than no matter what we were going to shoot for an early morning photo shoot. Thankfully God was on our side and we pulled it off even better than I had expected. The conditions were perfect, other than the fact that it was FREEZING! The Hot coco warmed everyone up though! Such a beautiful scene for an amazing couple! I am so looking forward to your wedding in October! I hope the fall colors are just as spectacular as the winter whites. Hair and Makeup artistry was provided by Sara Keo.
This couple is very special to us here at Karie Peterson Photography! I was thrilled when I heard that Mike proposed! I couldn’t get on the phone fast enough once that infamous ring shot was posted to Facebook. I have known the Bride-to-be my whole life and of course knew the story of how this couple met, so we thought it would be hilarious to re-in act that fateful night and give Famous Pizza in Bethel, CT a little shout out too! The story goes, that one late Summer evening a group of friends were hanging out and here comes Lissa with her hot Famous Pizza’s. She goes to her hot rod of a Civic turns up Country music and sits on the roof of her car and starts chowing down. Now to everyone else there… that’s normal.. That’s just Lissa being Lissa but not to Mike… oh no… just as she had stolen his pepperoni right from off his pizza…she also made it off with his heart that night too. I can not wait to attend there wedding next year! It’s going to be filled with love, laughter… and hopefully… some Famous Pizza J
What a special Engagement session we had at Cranbury Park in Norwalk CT. This park is where this Bride-to-be’s late parents took their wedding portraits. This is also the same spot that her groom-to-be asked for her hand in marriage. We had a perfect day walking around the park, reenacting the special proposal and really getting to know each other on and off camera. I am really looking forward to their wedding, I have a feeling its going to be something really special!
Bonded over their love of movies and all things pop culture this couple sparked my creativity with their enthusiasm to do something different for their engagement portraits. While chatting over the phone for our pre-session consultation I found that the bride has a true love for the all time classic ‘Pretty Woman’ staring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere and she had the idea to reenact the scene where Richard Gere gives Julia Roberts the necklace. So romantic! I was flooded with a rush of great ideas and emotion…now if I could just had to find the right location…but of course…the ever faithful Edmond Town Hall in Newtown CT. The Staff at Edmond Town Hall is amazing and so accommodating with allowing us to use their facility, big thanks to Tom!! First we started in the Theater where I had the brilliant idea for the groom to act out the classic ‘yawn reach move’ during a movie. These images look great framed as a storyboard collection on the wall, tells such a story, and is super hilarious!
Scene change, outfit change and makeup and were ready for the reveal of the ‘Pretty Woman’. The bride to be looked amazing in her red dress and the groom…well ladies…he’s taken. We reenacted the scene perfectly, complete with the classic Julia laugh! Big thanks to my sweet heart too for all his help with lighting, and to Edmond Town Hall, the best movie theater ever! Congratulations to the happy couple! Lots of love to you both!
